About the Westmoreland Tennessee Area
Most of the first settlers to this area arrived from 1805 until 1820. Settlers in Westmoreland came from North Carolina, Virginia, and other neighboring states, most of them in search of fertile land to begin farming and raising their families.
Some settlers such as J. Gilliam and D. Brown came to the area with land grants that gave them ownership of land parcels. This small neighborhood has seen much change, and with a great amount of commercial development, many of the older parks have been replaced by businesses or parking lots. Nonetheless, there are still many attractive offerings in the area, and a lot of good reasons to call Westmoreland home.
